This bag is made from rug fabric, inspired by traditional carpet bags.

In the 19th century, travel bags made from Oriental rugs became popular in Europe and America and were known as carpet bags. Rugs were often used because leftover fabric could be obtained affordably, while the sturdy material was practical for carrying travel belongings. The fabric could also provide extra warmth in unheated vehicles, making it both useful and functional.

Due to the characteristics of the material, fuzz may come off with friction or snagging. Loose fibers may also adhere to clothing.
