Maker: Jubilee Trading Company

About: Stephanie Edwards has been making and selling handmade goods since 2015, working out of her attic and selling online until the business moved to their current location on West Gaines Street in 2023. In 2019, she partnered with a leather artisan in Morocco. Taking what she learned selling her own goods, she began designing and selling his leather bags and decor in the US. That partnership grew so that now 6 people are employed in Morocco making leather goods for Jubilee.

Jubilee is unique, operating as a non-profit organization. They make it easy to use your purchasing power for good by stocking beautiful items that make a difference either locally or globally. In the shop you’ll find jewelry made in Southeast Asia by women rescued out of sex trafficking, essential oils made in Nashville by women in recovery, and shirts made from American-grown cotton and screen-printed just down the road in Leoma.  They even employ vulnerable women in our own community, under the care of local agencies, to offer a positive, caring work environment as they get back on their feet.
