Founded by Gladys Macharia, Siafu Home is rooted in a lifelong appreciation for craft, beauty, and design. Raised in Northern Kenya, Gladys first discovered her love of making through simple handmade jewelry, later deepening that passion through studies in fashion design, fine jewelry, and gemology, as well as work with internationally recognized designer Ermanno Scervino.
After returning to Kenya to launch her bespoke jewelry line, Loyangalani, she became more aware of the challenges facing the country’s textile industry. That experience helped inspire the creation of Siafu Home.
Today, Siafu Home works with a small but growing team of weavers in Nairobi, creating beautiful handloom textiles from organic cotton. With a focus on quality, training, and preserving weaving knowledge across generations, the brand is helping carry Kenyan textile craftsmanship forward.
